Supporting Researchers Supporting Researchers

Supporting researchers to turn discovery into impact.

So, you’ve got a great idea — and you’re curious about where it could go.

KiwiNet supports researchers to explore pathways for their research to make a difference in the world, whether through a new product, service, start-up or industry partnership.

You bring the science. We provide the tools, funding, skills and connections to help you take the next step.

KiwiNet works in partnership with commercialisation teams at universities and research organisations across Aotearoa to deliver this support.

What is research commercialisation?

Commercialisation is the journey from scientific discovery to real-world impact.

It’s about translating research into a new product, service or business that makes its mark in the world. This can involve:

  • Securing intellectual property
  • Testing ideas outside the lab
  • Understanding real-world needs and markets
  • Developing prototypes
  • Identifying pathways to market

KiwiNet supports researchers at this early stage, helping them navigate the journey with confidence.
