Commercialisation Fundamentals

Commercialisation Fundamentals Workshop

Researcher Training

This event is designed for entrepreneurial researchers who have ideas but are unsure about how to get them to market. This "Commercialisation Fundamentals workshop" covers the core areas required to get ideas to market quickly.

KiwiNet’s Commercialisation Workshops are part of a free workshop series for researchers from Universities and CRIs. If you’re a Researcher or a Post-Grad, join us and learn more about important principles of commercialising research. These workshops offer a great environment to share your experience and discuss key issues.

This ‘How To’ workshop will provides practical skills to:

  • Build a team around your idea
  • Assess and explore multiple opportunities for your idea
  • Identify potential partners and/or investors
  • Communicate your idea as a business opportunity
  • Accelerate your idea with resources and funding

Workshop Structure

The workshop is typically delivered to 20 to 25 researchers using an interactive mixture of presentations, group discussions and individual workbook assignments. Plenty of practical examples are used to illustrate the key themes.

This workshop was the first instalment of our free "Commercialisation Essentials" series that we are running throughout the country for CRI and university researchers.
