We offer a range of workshops that are free of charge and targeted at all levels within research commercialisation, from postgraduate students through to researchers and technology transfer professionals. These workshops aim to energise NZ’s research commercialisation capability by building a strong professional network in this sector and by providing the best professional development, expert support and resources available.

For Researchers
Our researcher training workshops are designed to empower researchers to engage effectively with their technology transfer offices and industry to advance their work. We source a range of professional trainers and facilitators to deliver workshops on identifying commercial opportunities, patenting, accessing funding for commercialisation and tapping into support.
For Technology Transfer Professionals
Our Advanced Commercialisation events are targeted to technology transfer professionals and commercialisation staff, although researchers and business people are welcome to attend. They focus on the advanced aspects of key areas of research commercialisation, for example: term sheet and deal negotiation, IP valuation, international market validation, negotiation skills and tactics, and opportunity assessment.

This business-focussed workshop is must for business managers wanting to know more about IP management, young IP professionals, and those with more experience who are looking to build on their experience or keep up to date with best practice. Ideally participants will have either completed the introductory course IAM 101 or have experience with the basics of intellectual property and license agreements.
